Description

Learn the proper techniques and movements to safely control your canoe on calm waters along the Petite Rivière Blanche. Accompanied by a certified guide, you'll discover the joys of mastering the paddle to give your canoe a smooth and efficient glide, providing a reassuring sense of control. The training also covers safety rules and canoe transport. This introductory course will provide you with the basic skills to make your time on the water a truly enjoyable experience.

You will learn to:

  • Knowing and mastering safety equipment
  • Understanding the specific characteristics of the canoe
  • Transporting your canoe with two people
  • Launch your canoe
  • Get into your canoe
  • Move your canoe in a straight line
  • Rotate and pivot your canoe
  • Understanding basic rescue techniques
  • To refloat a capsized canoe
* Make sure you are already dressed for water activities before arriving at the CAP central base.
  • Be 12 years of age or older;
  • Knowing how to swim;
  • Having a health condition without mobility limitations and not requiring rapid hospitalization without means of prevention.
  • Canoe equipment (canoe, safety equipment, paddle, PFD, etc.);
