Description

Learn the proper techniques and movements to safely control your canoe in calm water on the Petite Rivière Blanche. Accompanied by a certified guide, you will discover the pleasures of handling the paddle well to give your canoe a smooth and efficient glide and bring you a reassuring feeling. The training also covers safety rules and canoe transport. This initiation will give you the basic skills to make your outings on the water moments of pure happiness.

You will learn to :

  • Know and master safety equipment
  • Understand the particularities of the canoe
  • Transport your canoe for two
  • Launch your canoe
  • Board your canoe
  • Driving your canoe in a straight line
  • Rotate and pivot your canoe
  • Understand basic rescue techniques
  • Refloat a canoe that has capsized

Plan to dress in clothes to go to the water before your arrival at the CAP central base.

Preconditions

  • Be 12 years of age or older;
  • Know how to swim;
  • Have a health condition without limitation of movement and not requiring rapid hospitalization without means of prevention.
